Balkh province hosts a three-day exhibition of domestic products and women’s handicrafts
Beyan News – Officials from the Chamber of Commerce and Investment in Balkh province in northern Afghanistan say that a three-day exhibition of domestic products and women’s handicrafts has been held with financial support from the International Labor Organization.
This exhibition was opened on Tuesday (June 11) under the title “Mawlana Jalaluddin Mohammad Balkhi.”
Asadullah Asadi, the head of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment in Balkh, stated in a press conference that domestic products and handicrafts were showcased in 130 booths.
According to him, the International Labor Organization supports women’s commercial and marketing activities.
On the other hand, some female businesswomen and local producers have welcomed the organization of this exhibition and consider its continuity effective in supporting women economically.
However, according to published statistics, the International Labor Organization has created around 10,000 jobs in Afghanistan in the past three years, including women’s economic activities.
