Malala: I am deeply concerned about Afghan women and girls being deported from Pakistan
Bayan News – Malala Yousafzai, the Nobel Peace Prize laureate, expressed deep concern in an interview with the French news agency about the return of Afghan women and girls under the Taliban rule.
She added in this interview that she is worried about the bleak future of the returning Afghan girls.
The Nobel Peace Prize laureate from Pakistan urged Pakistan to stop the deportation of undocumented Afghan refugees.
Malala said, “It is deeply concerning that Pakistan is forcing Afghan refugees to return to Afghanistan, and I am deeply concerned about women and girls.”
She further expressed that many Afghan women and girls are educated and employed in Pakistan.
These concerns arise after the Pakistani government is determined to deport around 800,000 undocumented Afghan refugees in the second wave of mass deportations.
Concurrently, the Pakistani federal cabinet has recently decided to extend the stay of those Afghans who had residence for another year.
