Karzai: The reopening of schools and universities for girls is essential

Bayan News – Coinciding with the announcement of the Kankor exam results without girls, Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, once again emphasized the reopening of schools and universities for girls.

The former President of Afghanistan made these remarks on Sunday (July 21) in a meeting with Rosa Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative in Afghanistan.

Karzai added in a message that during this meeting, they exchanged views on the current situation in the region and the recent Doha meeting hosted by the United Nations.

Karzai’s message stated: “The former President considered the education of youth, both girls and boys, as vital for a prosperous, progressive and self-reliant Afghanistan, and emphasized the reopening of schools and universities for girls.”

The former President of Afghanistan also considered national consensus for lasting peace and stability in the country as essential during this meeting.
