Taliban Minister of Agriculture: Afghanistan’s fruit exports face challenges

Bayan News – Ataullah Omari, the Taliban’s Minister of Agriculture, stated that Afghanistan is facing difficulties in exporting fruit to neighboring countries.

This Taliban official, in a meeting with Afghan traders on Wednesday (October 2), added that the current Kabul government is in talks with the Pakistani government to remove obstacles to fruit exports.

Mr. Omari expressed that serious efforts are underway to reduce the problems faced by traders, particularly the challenges in transporting Afghanistan’s export goods.

Meanwhile, Afghan traders also criticized Pakistan’s policies during this meeting, accusing Islamabad of duplicity.

Afghan traders said that Pakistan’s policies change during the harvest season, causing both them and the farmers to suffer losses.

Recently, several traders contacted Afghan media, stating that Pakistan was closing routes, causing their fruits to spoil during this period.
