War between Israel and Hezbollah; UN: Hundreds of thousands of Lebanese children displaced

Bayan News – The United Nations has announced that as a result of the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah over the past three weeks, more than 400,000 children in the country have been displaced.

Ted Chaiban, Deputy Director of UNICEF, stated on Monday, October 14, in a message that Lebanon is facing the risk of a “lost generation.”

In an interview with the Associated Press, Chaiban emphasized that 1.2 million people have been displaced to areas in Beirut and northern Lebanon.

This UN official expressed concern about the deprivation of educational opportunities for hundreds of thousands of Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian children.

According to Chaiban, the war in the Middle East has had a significant impact on children in Lebanon in a short period, causing them both physical and psychological harm.

This comes as talks to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East have yielded no results, and Israel’s large-scale attacks on Hezbollah positions continue.

According to statistics from Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, more than 2,300 people have been killed in the country due to Israeli attacks.
