Taliban Minister of Energy and Water: We are focused on domestic resources for electricity production

Bayan News – Abdul Latif Mansur, the Taliban’s Minister of Energy and Water, stated that the ministry has focused on domestic resources for electricity production in Afghanistan.

On Saturday, October 19, the ministry inaugurated a 10-megawatt solar power project at the Naghlu Dam in the Surobi district of Kabul.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Energy added that this project was implemented by Green State Power with a private investment of $7.6 million USD by the “Aufi Bahram” company.

According to the ministry, with the commissioning of the 10-megawatt Naghlu solar power project, 10,000 families in Kabul and Nangarhar will benefit from electricity.

Meanwhile, the Taliban Minister of Energy and Water, during the inauguration ceremony of this project, said that they are focused on producing electricity from domestic resources, and according to him, renewable energy projects will also be implemented in other provinces.

Recently, the Taliban announced the inauguration of a 22.75-megawatt solar power production project in the Surobi district near the Naghlu Dam.

It was stated that this project will be completed within a year with an investment of $18 million USD.
