The Taliban Bans the Publication of Images of Living Beings in Badghis
Bayan News – Sources in Badghis province report that the Directorate of Information and Culture has banned the publication of images of living beings in the media.
On Tuesday, November 12, sources stated that the Taliban have instructed media officials to replace the publication of images of living beings with pictures of signs and buildings in the city, relevant to the subject.
According to the source, the Taliban’s Directorate of Information and Culture clarified that this directive has been approved by the governor of the group in Badghis based on the law of “Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.”
Taliban officials have not made an official statement regarding this issue.
Previously, this ban on publishing images of living beings had been implemented in the provinces of Kandahar and Takhar.
Under the Taliban’s “Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” law, capturing images of living beings is considered a crime.
