Bill Gates donated 50 million dollars to Kamala Harris’s campaign

Bayan News – The New York Times has reported that Bill Gates, the founder of Microsoft, has donated 50 million dollars to Kamala Harris’s campaign, the Democratic candidate in the U.S. presidential election.

The newspaper reported on Tuesday (October 22) that the American billionaire had previously avoided political involvement but now says, “this time is different.”

The report states that Gates made this donation privately to a nonprofit organization supporting Kamala Harris’s campaign.

The newspaper, citing two people close to Gates, reported that he mentioned he could work with either of the U.S. presidential candidates, but he expressed concerns about a second term for Trump.

According to his associates, Bill Gates does not have a close relationship with Kamala Harris but has “praised” the climate policies of the Biden-Harris administration.

In response to The New York Times regarding his donation to Harris, Gates did not give a clear answer and emphasized his neutrality but said, “This election is different and has unprecedented importance for Americans and the most vulnerable people worldwide.”

He also said, “I support candidates who show a clear commitment to improving healthcare, reducing poverty, and combating climate change in the United States and around the world.”
