The Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Approves Plan to Strengthen the Tajikistan-Afghanistan Border
Bayan News – Imangali Tasmagambetov, Secretary-General of the CSTO, announced that the organization will soon approve a plan to reinforce the border between Tajikistan and Afghanistan.
On Friday (October 25), the Secretary-General told RIA Novosti that the plan to strengthen the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border has been put on the agenda.
He added that the CSTO Security Council meeting will take place within a month in the city of Astana.
It has been reported that the draft plan to bolster the Tajikistan-Afghanistan border has been reviewed and agreed upon by CSTO member states.
Regional organizations, including the CSTO, have repeatedly expressed concern over the past three years about the risk of extremism spreading from Afghanistan into Central Asia.
According to reports, representatives from more than 40 countries previously voiced concerns about the growing spread of extremism, radical religious teachings, and racial discrimination in various countries.
At a meeting in Moscow, they warned that this situation could lead to catastrophic consequences.
