Four Suicides Reported in Afghanistan Over the Past 24 Hours
Bayan News – It has been reported that four people, including one man and three women, have committed suicide in the provinces of Faryab, Helmand, and Paktika.
Local sources in Faryab province in northern Afghanistan stated that, in the first incident, an 18-year-old girl named Arifa hanged herself in the village of “Takht-e-Zaghan” in the Pashtun Kot district of Faryab, ending her life.
According to sources, Arifa was married and took this action at her father’s house.
Meanwhile, another 22-year-old woman named Gulafzar committed suicide in the village of “Qala-e-Shahan” in the Garziwan district of the same province.
Sources added that Gulafzar was also married and ended her life by ingesting poison.
Additionally, sources reported that a 24-year-old woman committed suicide in the Marjah district of Helmand province within the past 24 hours.
The reason for the suicides of these three women has been attributed to domestic violence.
At the same time, local sources in Paktika province report that a young man in this province committed suicide due to economic difficulties.
According to sources, on Monday, November 4, this young man took his own life in the village of Ali Khel, in the Urgun district of Paktika.
It is said that this young man had been unemployed for two years and suffered from financial problems.
Sources noted that after losing hope in finding work, he decided to end his life.
In recent days, the rate of suicides among young people in Afghanistan has risen sharply.
