The Human Rights Council is holding a two-day meeting on the situation of women in Afghanistan

The situation of Afghan women and girls will be discussed at the 53rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council in Geneva, which will be held this week.
This meeting will be held on Monday (June 19), Richard Bennett, UN special rapporteur on human rights, Parwana Ebrahimkhel and Negin Yari, Afghan women’s rights activists, have been invited as speakers.
The UN Special Rapporteur will also present his latest report on the human rights situation of Afghan women and girls in this meeting.
According to Bennett, in the last two years, about 50 decrees have been issued in order to limit the women and girls of Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, it is said that international organizations will also share their human rights findings from the current situation in Afghanistan to the United Nations Human Rights Council.
