Death of Over Two Thousand Children in the Israel-Hamas Conflict

Bayan News – UN-affiliated organizations have reported that in the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Gaza Strip, two thousand and three hundred children have lost their lives.

Adel Khudair, the regional director of UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund) stated that in addition to the deaths of over two thousand children in the Gaza Strip, more than five thousand other children have been injured.

The UNICEF official further mentioned that over thirty Israeli children have been killed in Hamas attacks, and dozens of other children are affiliated with Hamas groups.

According to him, the killing of children, attacks on hospitals and schools, and the denial of access to humanitarian aid constitute serious violations of children’s rights.

UNICEF has called on the parties involved to agree to a ceasefire and allow the affected and the people of Gaza to have access to humanitarian assistance.

However, following the Hamas attack on Israel in early October, thousands of civilians have been killed and injured in the conflict, with women and children comprising the majority of the casualties.

In the Israeli airstrikes on the Gaza Strip, over two million people have been displaced in Palestine and are in need of shelter.
