Torkham border crossing blocked for transit
Bayan News – It has been reported that the Pakistani government has blocked the Torkham border crossing for transit this afternoon, Tuesday, November 21st.
Esamatullah Yaquob, the interim governor of Kabul, commented in Torkham that Pakistan does not allow entry to vehicles whose drivers do not possess visas and passports.
It is said that previously, truck drivers were allowed to enter Pakistan without visas and passports.
The closure of the Torkham border crossing comes as the Pakistani government is deporting thousands of Afghan refugees who were residing in the country illegally.
In the past month, Islamabad has deported over 400,000 migrants.
This action by Pakistan has triggered international reactions, with international organizations deeming it contrary to human rights values.
