Zakhilwal to the current government: Constitution is a requirement

Bayan News

Omar Zakhilwal, the former government’s finance minister, said that the existence of the constitution and gaining popular support for governance are a need.

In an exclusive interview, she pointed to the caretaker government’s policies towards women’s work and girls’ education, which have narrowed Kabul’s relations withthe world.

“There were policies that made space more unfavorable,” Zakhilwal said. The assurances that people needed were wrong in him. “Unfortunately, our relations with the world have been greatly restricted.”

Stating that the international community does not advocate for women’s rights, she noted that the issue of girls’ education and women’s work must be resolved within Afghanistan.

“A government that has legitimacy should be based on a constitution that we don’t have a constitution for now, a constitution that relates people to the government. “No government has full legitimacy without the support of the people.”

However, after the Islamic Emirate’s dominance over Afghanistan, all written laws of the country are abolished and all governance affairs are pursued according to sharia law.
