World Food Program: Catastrophic hunger has arrived behind the gate of the people of Afghanistan

The World Food Program in Afghanistan (WFP) warns that hundreds of thousands of people will be added to the number of hungry if the international community does not receive funds immediately.
Shaw Wiley, representative and head of the World Food Program office in Afghanistan, said that they can help 9 million people in Afghanistan in just the next few days.
He added that this organization needs 93 million dollars by April of this year to provide assistance to 13 million people in Afghanistan.
According to the head of the World Food Program, he needs 800 million dollars for the continuation of humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan for the next six months.
“Catastrophic hunger is knocking on the door of the people of Afghanistan, and if there is no sustainable humanitarian support, hundreds of thousands more people will be added to the number of people who need help to survive,” Wiley said.
These concerns are taking place while countries have reduced their humanitarian aid to Afghanistan due to the lack of a comprehensive government, restrictions against girls and the prohibition of women’s work in institutions.
