The local officials of the Islamic Emirate in Daikundi province say that a married woman committed suicide by taking opium and ended her life.
Mustafa Saleh, head of information and culture of Daikundi, said that this woman was a resident of Minarah village in Kejran district of this province and she committed suicide two days ago.
This woman had tried to commit suicide by taking opium before, but her relatives saved her by transferring her to the health center.
In the last one year, the suicide rate has increased in the central regions, including Bamyan, Daikundi, and also in some northern provinces of Afghanistan, especially Badakhshan.
