In this meeting, the vice president of the Chinese company presented the plan for implementing and starting the Aynak copper project.
Acting Minister of Mines and Petroleum has also stated that in order to move ancient artifacts from the Aynak copper area, a committee consisting of representatives of the Ministry, Information and Culture and a Chinese company has been created under the chairmanship of the Technical Deputy of the Ministry of Mines.
However, Aynak copper mine is the largest copper mine and the second copper mine in the world, and this mine is located in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province.
The first mining contract was signed with a Chinese company in 2008 during Hamid Karzai’s government.
