The emphasis of the defense ministers of Pakistan and Tajikistan on curbing security challenges from Afghanistan

Shir Ali Mirzo, the Minister of Defense of Tajikistan, headed a delegation to Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, and met and discussed security opportunities and challenges with his Pakistani counterpart.

According to Pakistani media, Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Mohammad Asif said during the meeting that Tajikistan and Pakistan, as neighbors of Afghanistan, face similar challenges and security threats.

The Minister of Defense of Pakistan has assured on behalf of Tajikistan that he will continue to provide assistance in the direction of intelligence capacity building with the security forces of Tajikistan.

He added that Pakistan believes in peaceful resolution of all issues and appreciates Tajikistan’s efforts for peace and stability in the region.

Pakistan and Tajikistan, the two close neighbors of Afghanistan, have expressed their security concerns from time to time after the Islamic Emirate took over the country.

At the same time, Tajikistan has intensified its security measures in the areas bordering Afghanistan in the past two years.
