Saudi Arabia commits to combating religious extremism

Bayan News – The Council of Ministers of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has welcomed the draft resolution of the United Nations Human Rights Council on combating religious hatred.

According to the Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the cabinet of Saudi Arabia emphasized Riyadh’s efforts to support dialogue, moderation, and the avoidance of extremism. The active approval of this resolution was requested by Riyadh and several countries to embody the principles of respecting religions, cultures, and promoting the guaranteed values of international law.

This position of the Saudi government was raised during a cabinet meeting chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in the city of Jeddah.

The Saudi cabinet reiterated the kingdom’s steadfast policy in the Executive Council meeting of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons in The Hague, regarding strengthening cooperation to prohibit all types of weapons of mass destruction and prevent their proliferation, including the denuclearization of the Middle East.
