New Chinese Ambassador Presents Credentials to Prime Minister

Bayan News – Officials from the Kabul caretaker government announced that Jiao Sheng, the new Chinese ambassador to Afghanistan, presented his credentials to the Prime Minister on Thursday (September 13) in a special ceremony.

Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Islamic Emirate, added that the credentials ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace, and the Prime Minister accepted the credentials of the new Chinese ambassador.

According to the statement, the new Chinese ambassador stated in his remarks that China fully respects the independence, territorial integrity, and decision-making sovereignty of Afghanistan as a good neighbor.

He reiterated that China does not have a policy of interfering in the internal affairs of Afghanistan and does not want to turn Afghanistan into its sphere of influence.

The new Chinese ambassador added, “I will strive to strengthen the relations and cooperation between Afghanistan and China in political, economic, and other sectors.”

Meanwhile, Mohammad Hassan Akhund, the Prime Minister of the Kabul caretaker government, expressed appreciation for the presence of the new Chinese ambassador in Kabul and expressed hope that his appointment would enhance diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The Prime Minister of the Kabul caretaker government emphasized the importance of Afghanistan-China relations and emphasized the need for further steps to strengthen bilateral relations.

Wang Yu served as the Chinese ambassador to Kabul for five years prior to this appointment.

After the reestablishment of the Islamic Emirate’s control over Afghanistan, the Chinese embassy in Kabul remained active and continued to strengthen its relations with the Kabul caretaker government compared to the past.
