Expulsion of Over 200,000 Afghan Refugees from Pakistan
Bayan News – Pakistani media outlets have reported that since the start of the deadline for the departure of Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan, a total of 220,000 individuals have returned to Afghanistan.
Pakistan’s state radio, in a report on Tuesday, November 13th, added that the expulsion of illegal foreign nationals, including Afghan citizens, is ongoing, and thousands of individuals are returning to their country daily through the Torkham and Spin Boldak border crossings.
The Pakistani media, providing further details, added that yesterday, over 3,000 individuals were returned to Afghanistan in more than 300 vehicles.
However, the forced expulsion of Afghan refugees from Pakistan has created serious social and economic challenges for Afghanistan, and many international organizations have expressed concerns about the expansion of the humanitarian crisis in the country.
The interim Kabul government has called for financial assistance to support the returnees, and some Afghan traders have announced their readiness to cooperate with the current Kabul government in this regard.
