Iran’s Interior Minister: The enemy seeks conflict between Iranians and Afghans

Bayan News – Ahmad Vahidi, Iran’s Interior Minister, has stated that the enemy seeks to incite conflict between Iranians and Afghan nationals, referring to recent tensions between Iranian citizens and Afghan nationals.

He made these remarks on Tuesday (December 5th) during a question-and-answer session with students in Ahvaz, Iran.

The Iranian Interior Minister clearly stated, “The enemy seeks to promote animosity towards Afghans and create conflict between Iranians and Afghans, which is not acceptable to us.”

Recently, the media reported clashes between some Iranian citizens and Afghan nationals in the city of Yazd, Iran, resulting in the death of an Iranian citizen and an Afghan youth.

It was also reported that Iranian citizens in Yazd set fire to a house belonging to Afghan nationals, but Iranian authorities have denied these reports.

Simultaneously, Iran’s Interior Minister emphasized the expulsion of illegal Afghan immigrants residing in Iran, stating that they should be returned.

He further added that Afghan nationals living temporarily in Iran should return to their own country until conditions are favorable.

The Iranian Interior Minister stated that the interim government of Afghanistan has been requested to repatriate Afghan citizens from Iran.
