Special Representative of the United States has begun his ten-day trip to regional countries

Bayan News – Tom West, the Special Representative of the United States for Afghanistan, has announced his ten-day trip to Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

He wrote on Thursday morning (December 6th) on his X platform that he will hold discussions with officials from these countries regarding security issues, refugee protection and resettlement, humanitarian needs, human rights, and economic matters concerning Afghanistan.

The Special Representative of the United States for Afghanistan embarks on his regional trips at a time when the Kabul-Islamabad relations have become strained over the forced expulsion of Afghan migrants.

Furthermore, Pakistani authorities claim that Pakistani Taliban militants are challenging Islamabad’s security by using Afghan soil, a claim that has consistently been denied by the Islamic Emirate.

Recently, Islamabad criticized the caretaker government in Kabul for not meeting Islamabad’s expectations regarding addressing the threats posed by the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP).
