Muttaq’s Request from China to Commence Practical Work on the Mes Aynak Project
Bayan News – Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, met and held discussions with Yoshiaying, the Special Representative of China for Afghanistan.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a newsletter today, Tuesday (December 18th), that during this meeting, the overall bilateral relations between Afghanistan and China were discussed.
Matiq emphasized the need to commence practical work on the Mes Aynak project and assured that the relevant Afghan authorities are fully prepared to start this project.
According to the ministry’s newsletter, Amir Khan Muttaqi added that Afghanistan and China should focus on avenues that lead to increased exports of Afghan goods to China.
On the other hand, the Special Representative of China for Afghanistan stated that his country respects the independence of Afghanistan and will not interfere in its internal affairs.
The Chinese Special Representative also highlighted that his country has significantly reduced customs tariffs on imported goods from Afghanistan to promote trade between the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that after the establishment of the Islamic Emirate, the relations between Afghanistan and China have expanded positively.
