Bayan News – Israeli military officials confirm that Hezbollah Lebanon has fired dozens of rockets towards northern Israel.
According to international media reports, Hezbollah Lebanon also announced early Saturday (January 6) that it targeted an Israeli military base in the north of the country with over 60 rockets.
Hezbollah Lebanon continues to state that the rocket launches are an initial response to the assassination of a senior Hamas political figure by Israel.
The extent of the damages and casualties resulting from the rocket launches has not been determined yet.
However, Saleh al-Arouri, the political deputy of Hamas and leader of the group, was killed on the western coast following an Israeli drone attack in southern Beirut, Lebanon.
Israel has stated that the assassination of the Hamas political deputy was not an attack on Lebanon.
