Ministry of Mines Signs Contracts for Extraction of Four Major Mines in Afghanistan Worth Over 10 Billion Afghanis

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban, states that the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum has signed contracts for the extraction of four major mines in Afghanistan worth 10 billion and 150 million Afghanis.

Mujahid wrote on Friday (January 12) on the X platform that contracts for gold, iron, chromite, and coal mines have been signed with four companies in Kabul.

The Taliban spokesperson further added that the commencement of mining operations in these mines, located in the provinces of Herat, Balkh, and Parwan, will provide employment opportunities for thousands of people.

However, after taking control in Afghanistan, the Taliban has awarded contracts for most of the country’s mines to domestic and international companies.

Iran and China are among the countries that have volunteered and expressed readiness to cooperate in the extraction of Afghanistan’s mines.
