Attack on US Soldiers at the Syria-Jordan Border; Biden: Work of Iranian-backed Militia Groups

Bayan News – The US Army has confirmed that three American soldiers were killed in a drone attack in northeastern Jordan near the Syrian border, and 25 other soldiers were injured.

It is said that the attack took place on Monday afternoon (January 28).

The US Army has not provided further details on the matter, but US and Jordanian officials have made conflicting statements.

US officials believe that the attack on American soldiers took place on Jordanian soil, but Jordanian officials say that this incident occurred outside their country.

On the other hand, President Joe Biden stated in a statement that this attack was carried out by an Iranian-backed militia group in Syria and Iraq.

Biden added in his statement, “While we are still gathering the facts of this attack, we know that extremist militia groups supported by Iran, active in Syria and Iraq, have conducted this attack.”

The US President warned that they will bring the groups behind this attack to justice. “Make no mistake, we will enforce justice on all those responsible for this attack, in a time and manner of our choosing.”

In recent days, US military bases in Iraq and Syria have been targeted by several drone attacks, and these attacks are increasing as the US opposes a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.

At the same time, the US and the UK have intensified their attacks on Houthi forces in Yemen.
