European Union approves €50 billion aid package for Ukraine in agreement with Hungary

Bayan News – It has been reported that the European Union has approved a €50 billion aid package for Ukraine in agreement with Hungary.

Charles Michel, the President of the European Council, wrote on the X platform on Friday (February 1), “All 27 leaders have agreed on an additional €50 billion support package for Ukraine within the framework of the EU budget.”

The President of the European Council stated that this agreement will provide Ukraine with a fixed, long-term, and predictable source of funding, while also placing the leadership and responsibility of supporting Ukraine on the European Union.

Hungary had previously vetoed this aid to Ukraine.

However, Volodymyr Zelensky, the President of Ukraine, expressed gratitude for the EU’s assistance and emphasized that it has now become clear that Europe and Ukraine will stand together.

The President of Ukraine, in a video message, called for the establishment of a fund to aid Ukraine and deemed it necessary for maintaining European peace.
