Taliban: Ministry of Finance Pays Salaries to Over 86,000 Women

Bayan News – Zabihullah Mujahid, the spokesperson for the Taliban government, stated that the Ministry of Finance monthly pays salaries to approximately one million government employees, particularly over 86,000 women.

Mujahid, on Monday (February 4th), released the one-year achievements of the Ministry of Finance on the X platform and added that effective steps have been taken in the past year towards improving the economic situation of the people.

The Taliban spokesperson further wrote that the previous government had outstanding debts of nearly 180 billion Afghanis in the areas of loans, supplies, and people’s guarantees, which the Ministry of Finance has started the payment process for in an unprecedented move.

According to Mujahid, those entities whose loans have been settled will receive 10 percent of the remaining amount in the coming Gregorian year.

Reducing the shortage of food raw materials, increasing customs duties to support domestic industry, and granting tax amnesty are among other important measures that, according to Mujahid, have been undertaken by the Ministry of Finance.
