Karzai appreciates the special coordinator of the United Nations’ efforts for Afghanistan
Bayan News – Hamid Karzai, the former President of Afghanistan, met with Firden Sinir Oglu, the special coordinator of the United Nations for Afghanistan, on Thursday (February 7) and expressed his appreciation for his efforts.
Karzai’s press office added in a newsletter that the former President of Afghanistan described the independent assessment report of Afghanistan as realistic and practical.
Karzai further highlighted the efforts and diplomacy of the UN special coordinator for Afghanistan, considering them successful.
He regarded the upcoming Doha meeting as significant for Afghanistan and expressed hope that countries from around the world and the region would take practical and positive steps towards a bright future for Afghanistan.
On the eve of the special representatives’ meeting of world countries for Afghanistan in Doha, the UN special coordinator for Afghanistan traveled to Kabul.
During his visit to Kabul, Oglu met with senior Taliban officials and several politicians for discussions.
The UN special coordinator, in a meeting with the Taliban’s political deputy, stated that no one would support the collapse of the current Kabul government.
