Zardari re-elected as President of Pakistan

Bayan News – Asif Ali Zardari, from the Pakistan People’s Party, defeated his rival in the presidential elections in the National Assembly and provincial parliaments of the country and was elected as the President.

According to Pakistani media reports, the presidential elections in Pakistan were held on Sunday, March 9th, and Zardari managed to defeat Mahmood Khan Achakzai, the candidate supported by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party.

In the presidential elections in the National Assembly of Pakistan and the provincial parliaments of the country, Zardari received 255 votes while Achakzai received 119 votes.

This is the second time that Zardari has been elected as the President of Pakistan.
