Presidential elections in Russia; Putin went to the ballot box
Bayan News – The presidential elections in Russia were held this morning, Friday (March 15), across the country, and the citizens of this country went to the polling stations.
Four candidates are participating in the presidential elections. Vladimir Putin, the current president of Russia, Leonid Slutzki from the Liberal Democratic Party, Nikolai Kharitonov from the Communist Party, and Vladislav Davankov from the New People’s Party are competing in these elections.
According to Russian media reports, the voting process started at 8:00 a.m. in 94,000 polling stations.
Meanwhile, the current president of Russia, in a video released yesterday evening, stated that the people are the source of Russia’s power and they go to the ballot boxes to determine the destiny of their country.
He added that Moscow is going through a challenging phase, and in order to resolve the current challenges of Russia, the people must act united and with confidence.
The presidential elections in Russia are taking place while there is a prevailing policy of repression in the country, and on the other hand, tensions between Moscow and the West regarding the Ukraine issue are escalating.
Furthermore, Putin is attempting to manage Russia in an exclusive manner, and it is said that most of Putin’s competitors have participated in these elections merely as a show.
