Bayan News – Haji Mali Khan, Deputy Chief of Staff of the Taliban Ministry of Defense, visited the “Dand Patan” area in Paktia province hours after the end of the border clashes with Pakistan.

Yesterday, following the Pakistani army’s airstrikes on areas in Khost and Paktika, border clashes occurred between Pakistani forces and several areas in eastern Afghanistan.

These border clashes lasted for several hours and resulted in one casualty and three injuries among the Pakistani border forces.

The Taliban Ministry of Defense stated in a newsletter this morning, Thursday (March 20th), that the Deputy Chief of Staff of their ministry’s army went to the “Dand Patan” area in Paktia province to assess the situation.

According to the Taliban Ministry of Defense, the clashes have currently subsided in the areas.

The Deputy Chief of Staff of the Taliban Ministry of Defense added that the current government of Afghanistan is not in favor of war, but if a shot is fired from the soil of this country, the border forces will not remain silent and will respond.

It is worth mentioning that the new government of Pakistan has labeled these airstrikes by their army on areas of Afghanistan as counter-terrorism operations and stated that they targeted Pakistani Taliban militants.
