UNESCO: 1.4 Million Girls in Afghanistan Deprived of Education
Bayan News – The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) has provided statistics indicating that 1.4 million girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan are deprived of education.
The organization wrote on Friday (March 21) on the X platform that depriving girls of education has caused serious harm to their mental and emotional well-being.
UNESCO continues to state that the deprivation of girls’ education will hinder Afghanistan’s progress and development.
Yesterday, the Taliban began the new academic year in Afghanistan for the third year without the presence of girls.
However, it has been nearly a thousand days since girls and women have been prohibited from attending schools and universities.
