The beginning of the second wave of expulsions of Afghan migrants by Pakistan has once again raised concerns
Bayan News- Pakistani authorities have stated that Islamabad will initiate a second wave of expulsions of illegal asylum seekers after Eid.
Zahra Baloch, spokesperson for the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, stated on Friday, April 5, during a press conference that Islamabad’s policy towards the expulsion of Afghan migrants has not changed, and this process will intensify compared to the past.
She emphasized that all illegal migrants in Pakistan, including Afghans, should be returned to their countries of origin.
On the other hand, the Taliban Ministry of Migrants claims that the Pakistani government is putting pressure on Afghan migrants due to its internal problems.
Abdul Mutaleb Haqani, a spokesperson for this ministry, further added to the media that Pakistan should not unilaterally decide on the expulsion of these migrants, as it is not in the interest of both countries.
Most human rights organizations and UN-related organizations have reacted to this action by the Pakistani government.
These organizations have stated that Pakistan, through its inappropriate action, is violating the human rights values of migrants and putting their lives at risk.
According to statistics from the Taliban Ministry of Migrants, the start of the expulsion of Afghan migrants by the Pakistani government has resulted in the return of at least 100,000 migrant families to Afghanistan.
According to this ministry, most returning migrants from Pakistan have settled in the eastern provinces of Afghanistan.
This ministry has called on international aid agencies to collaborate with the Ministry of Migrants and Repatriates in transferring Afghan migrants to their original locations.
At least one thousand Afghan migrants were deported from Iran in “one day”
