Bayan News – Hours after Iran’s drone attack on Israel, US President Joe Biden says that most of Iran’s drones have been shot down.
In his statement, Biden added that Iran and its proxy groups in Yemen, Syria, and Iraq have carried out unprecedented airstrikes against Israeli military facilities.
The US President added, “Under my order, the US military has deployed aircraft and ballistic missile destroyers to the region over the past week to support the defense of Israel. Thanks to these deployments and the extraordinary skill of our soldiers, we have helped Israel shoot down nearly all incoming drones and missiles.”
He also said that he spoke with the Prime Minister of Israel to emphasize the unwavering commitment of the United States to Israel’s security.
Biden said, “I told him that Israel has demonstrated a remarkable ability to defend itself and repel unprecedented attacks, sending a clear message to its enemies that they cannot effectively threaten the security of Israel.”
The Israeli military has stated that Iran has fired over 200 drones and missiles towards Israel, most of which have been intercepted outside Israel’s borders. Joe Biden, the President of the United States and Israel’s main ally, has also claimed that almost all drones and missiles have been shot down.
According to Reuters, Israeli army spokesperson Daniel Haggari has also confirmed that Iran’s attacks have damaged an Israeli military center.
Israeli authorities have stated that a seven-year-old girl was injured in Iran’s attacks, according to Reuters.
Iran’s state television reported in the early hours about the “extensive drone attack” by the Revolutionary Guard on targets in Israel.
