Taliban halts broadcasts of two private television networks

Bayan News – It has been reported that the Media Violations Commission of the Taliban announced the suspension of broadcasts by two private television networks.

Hafizullah Barikzia, a member of the commission, stated on Wednesday (April 16) that the broadcasts of the “Noor” and “Bria” TV channels have been temporarily halted due to their failure to adhere to national and Islamic principles and values.

Barikzia further noted that they had repeatedly warned these two private television networks to respect national interests, but their officials did not pay attention.

Members of the commission have stated that the media violations of these television networks have been presented to the court.

Hafizullah Barikzia stated that the activities of these networks will remain suspended until the Taliban court announces its decision regarding their operations.

The private television network belongs to Salahuddin Rabbani, the leader of the Jamiat-e-Islami party, which was established approximately eighteen years ago.
