Discovery of mass graves in Gaza; Hague court inspectors interview hospital staff
Bayan News – International Criminal Court prosecutors in The Hague have conducted interviews with employees of two major hospitals regarding the discovery of mass graves in Gaza.
According to Reuters, two informed sources who requested anonymity stated that inspectors from the International Criminal Court have taken testimony from employees of Al-Shifa Hospital in northern Gaza and Nasser Hospital in Khan Yunis in southern Gaza.
These sources have refrained from providing further details due to concerns about the security of potential witnesses.
One of the sources told Reuters that the events surrounding the hospitals could be part of the International Criminal Court’s investigations into crimes against humanity, genocide, and sexual violence.
The Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court has refrained from commenting on operational matters in ongoing investigations, citing the need to ensure the safety of victims and witnesses.
The court has stated that it is conducting investigations into both sides of the conflict, including the Hamas forces’ attack on Israel on October 7th and Israel’s subsequent offensive in Gaza.
In recent days, following the exhumation of hundreds of bodies in mass graves at Nasser Hospital, Palestinian authorities have also called for investigations.
