The value of Iran’s exports to Afghanistan has reached $242 million in two months
Bayan News – It has been reported that the volume of Iran’s export goods to Afghanistan has seen a significant increase this year.
Mohammad Kohgard, the Director-General of Customs of South Khorasan, told the country’s media on Monday (May 27) that in the first two months of the current year, 6,837 trucks of goods were transited from the Mahirud border to Afghanistan, indicating that export goods have increased several times.
He added: “In terms of weight, it has seen a 1,090% growth, and its value has been calculated to be more than $242 million.
Previously, on April 18 of the current year, the Director-General of Customs of South Khorasan had reported a 3-fold increase in the transit of goods to Afghanistan.
This Iranian official said that the transit of goods in terms of the number of trucks has grown by 965% and in terms of value by 770%.
The transit goods to Afghanistan include trucks carrying sugar, flour, oil, used empty containers, and chemical fertilizers.
These goods have been transited to Afghanistan through the Mahirud customs from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Russia, and Indonesia.
