UNAMA condemns public punishment of 63 accused in Sar-e-Pul province
Bayan News – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) condemned on Wednesday (June 5) in a message the public punishment of the accused in Sar-e-Pul province.
UNAMA wrote on the X platform: “The de facto authorities in Afghanistan flogged 63 people publicly yesterday in Sar-e-Pul province.”
The agency also said that UNAMA strongly condemns corporal punishment again and calls for respect for international human rights obligations.
The Taliban flogged 63 people yesterday on charges of illicit relations and theft at the stadium of Sar-e-Pul province.
