Taliban Announces Sale of $71 Million Worth of Amu Darya Crude Oil

Bayan News – Hamayun Afghan, a spokesman for the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, says that in the past ten days, 130,000 tons of crude oil from the Amu Darya basin worth $71 million have been sold.

The ministry spokesman wrote on the X platform on Sunday morning (June 9) that in addition to this sale, another 20,000 tons of crude oil have been put up for auction.

According to this Taliban official, this is the first time 150,000 tons of crude oil have been sold in Afghanistan in the past ten days.

The Taliban’s announcement of crude oil sales comes as Afghanistan currently imports all of its required fuel from countries like Iran and Uzbekistan.
