UNAMA Helped with Drugs for the Treatment of Drug Addicts in Kabul

Bayan News – The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) says that this organization has provided drugs to help treat drug addicts in the city of Kabul.

UNAMA said on Monday (June 10) in a message that Róza Otunbayeva, the UN Secretary-General’s Special Representative, visited the Jangalak drug addict treatment center in Kabul.

The UNAMA message states: “During this trip (the UNAMA chief) visited different sections of this center and participated in the delivery of essential medicines for the addicts.”

UNAMA added that the United Nations supports the treatment of drug addicts.

It should be noted that with the Taliban’s return to power in Afghanistan, the number of wandering drug addicts in the city of Kabul has decreased, and many addicts have been placed under treatment.

Before the arrival of the Taliban, the number of people addicted to drugs exceeded two million.
