Amnesty International Calls for Immediate Reopening of Girls’ Schools in Afghanistan
Bayan News – Amnesty International has called on the Taliban’s interim government to immediately reopen the doors of girls’ schools.
The organization added in a message on Friday (June 14) that Afghan girls have been deprived of the right to education due to discriminatory and unjust policies.
According to Amnesty International, the Taliban’s policies regarding the education of girls and women violate international laws.
This human rights organization, with the hashtag “#EducationIsNotACrime”, wrote that the Taliban must immediately open all secondary and high schools for girls.
However, more than a thousand days have passed since girls’ access to education in Afghanistan was denied.
While the Taliban claim they do not oppose girls’ education, they have still not opened the doors of schools for them.
