Muttaqi to Iranian diplomat: We will not allow interference in Afghanistan’s affairs
Bayan News – Amir Khan Muttaqi, the Taliban’s Foreign Minister, said in a telephone conversation with Ali Bagheri Kani, the acting Foreign Minister of Iran, that the Taliban will not allow interference in Afghanistan’s affairs.
Abdul Qahar Balkhi, the spokesman of the Taliban’s Foreign Ministry, wrote on the X platform on Tuesday (June 18) quoting Amir Khan Muttaqi that Afghanistan is a free and independent country.
Muttaqi added: “We consider ourselves partners in all the joys and sorrows of all our neighboring countries. The Islamic Emirate (Taliban) has had good achievements in the economic and political sectors with the Islamic Republic of Iran over the past nearly three years.”
The Taliban’s Foreign Minister also emphasized the strengthening of good relations and the expansion of economic relations between Afghanistan and Iran.
On the other hand, the acting Foreign Minister of Iran also considered the presence of Taliban officials at the funeral ceremony of the President of Iran as a sign of good relations between the two sides.
This Iranian diplomat, referring to the continuation of Israel’s attacks on Gaza, expressed the hope that Islamic countries will raise their voices against these attacks.
