The Expulsion of Over 1,000 Afghan Migrants from Iran in One Day

Bayan News – The Ministry of Refugees and Repatriations of the Taliban has reported that 1,041 Afghan migrants were forcibly expelled from Iran in the past day.

The ministry added in a statement on Monday (June 24) that these migrants entered the country through the Silk Road bridge in Nimroz province the previous day.

The Taliban’s Ministry of Refugees stated that the expelled migrants have been referred to the International Organization for Migration to receive food assistance.

It is worth noting that most of the Afghan migrants are those who have been detained by Iranian police forces at their workplaces and forcibly deported.

Iranian authorities have repeatedly announced in the past year that undocumented migrants must leave the country.
