The 14th presidential election in Iran was held today

Bayan News – The 14th presidential election in Iran was held across the country on Friday morning (June 28).

Sayed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic, cast his vote around 8:00 AM this morning.

Ahmad Vahidi, the Interior Minister of Iran, said that voting is taking place in 58,640 polling stations inside Iran and 344 polling stations outside the country.

According to the election law, voting will continue for 10 hours and can be extended if necessary.

Iranian officials say more than 61 million people inside and outside Iran are eligible to vote.

The Iranian government is concerned about low voter turnout in today’s election.

In this election, three candidates from the conservative faction and one candidate from the reform faction are competing.

Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf and Saeed Jalili are the prominent conservative candidates.
