The Pakistani representative discussed Afghanistan with the German delegation
Bayan News – Asif Durrani, Pakistan’s special representative for Afghanistan, says he has discussed counterterrorism and the global community’s engagement with the Taliban with a German parliamentary delegation.
Durrani wrote on the X platform on Friday (July 12) that he had extensive discussions with this German delegation on the situation in Afghanistan.
Further details about this meeting have not been released.
This meeting comes after some German senators previously called for the reopening of the German embassy in Kabul.
Moreover, the German parliamentary delegation is visiting Pakistan while the country has, for security reasons, blocked its consulate in the city of Karachi and suspended the process of providing humanitarian services to non-European citizens.
According to statistics from the Pakistani Foreign Ministry, more than 40,000 people are waiting to be transferred to European and Western countries; individuals who have been accepted by these countries.
