Baya News – Last night (July 21st), US President Joe Biden formally announced that he is withdrawing from the presidential election race and is supporting his fully qualified deputy, Kamala Harris, in the US presidential election.
Biden said that he will be speaking to the people of the United States about this decision in the coming days.
On the other hand, Kamala Harris wrote on the X platform (formerly Twitter) on Monday morning (July 22nd) that she is honored to have the president’s endorsement and her goal is to win the upcoming US election.
She said: “I will do my utmost to unite the Democratic Party and unite our nation to defeat Donald Trump and his extremist agenda in 2025.”
Kamala Harris has also asked the people of the United States to contribute financially to her election campaigns.
Ms. Harris wrote on X: “If you’re with me, chip in a donation right now.”
She also described Joe Biden’s leadership in the US government as “extraordinary” and thanked him and the people of the United States.
