Death of an Iranian citizen in Tehran; Iranian citizens have attacked Afghan migrants

Bayan News – Following the death of an Iranian citizen who is said to have been killed by an Afghan migrant, Iranian citizens in east Tehran have subjected Afghan migrants to mistreatment, harassment and abuse.

According to video footage released on Monday (July 22), Afghan migrants in Tehran say that Iranian citizens in east Tehran are attacking Afghan migrants in parks, streets and metro stations.

One of the Afghan migrants residing in Tehran has added that he and his family feel surrounded by Iranian citizens and do not dare to go out of the house for work or shopping.

On the other hand, images circulated on social media show that Iranian citizens have posted a warning notice in east Tehran, asking Afghan migrants to immediately leave their neighborhoods.

It is not clear whether this notice was posted by Iranian government agencies or by Iranian citizens, but in this notice it has been said that they should immediately leave their neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Iranian media had previously reported that three Afghan brothers had been arrested by Tehran police on suspicion of killing an Iranian citizen.

The Tasnim news agency quoted a woman who had three migrant workers come to her apartment, writing: My husband had left Tehran for a business trip and I was alone at home. These three brothers, who are our neighbors, came to receive the building’s charges, and at the very beginning, a verbal argument broke out between us due to building issues.

This woman, who accused the three migrant workers of insulting, said that in response to their retreat, she contacted her husband, and an hour later her husband’s brother went to those three workers and got into a fight with them.
