Taliban Prime Minister: Unemployment in Afghanistan is the result of foreign interference

Bayan News – Mullah Muhammad Hassan Akhund, the Taliban Prime Minister, says that unemployment is the product of four and a half decades of war and foreign interference, which has been left as a legacy to the Taliban.

The Taliban Prime Minister made these remarks in a statement issued on Tuesday (July 23) at a national conference held in Kabul.

He called on international organizations to help the people of Afghanistan in terms of employment and job creation, and at the same time, the private sector needs to cooperate in this field.

Meanwhile, Maulvi Abdul Kabir, the Taliban Prime Minister’s political deputy, stated at this conference that despite the economic challenges and current sanctions, the Taliban have tried to find a fundamental solution to unemployment in the country.

This Taliban political official added that the current Kabul government has reached an agreement with neighboring and Gulf countries, according to which the countries will legally accept skilled and semi-skilled Afghans.

Maulvi Abdul Kabir noted that under these agreements, documents will be provided to illegal Afghan workers, and their problems will be addressed by the host countries.

On the other hand, Abdul Manan Omari, the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, stated at this conference that several decades of war have made the livelihood system of the people vulnerable, and he said that currently more than one million people are employed in various sectors of Afghanistan.

Some members of the Taliban cabinet have claimed that the ground for 500,000 jobs will be provided in Afghanistan over the next five years.

This is the first national labor conference organized by the Taliban in three years.

The National Labor Conference is being held by the Taliban at a time when unemployment in the country has reached its peak over the past three years, and many young people and professionals have left the country in search of employment to neighboring and regional countries.
